Master Alchemist

Beatrice Wang is a senior from Singapore majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. Her research in the Perlstein Lab focuses on characterizing the human Nar1 protein and its transport mechanism of iron-sulfer clusters. She enjoys playing Tiny Towers, Monopoly, and is also an avid fan of Lord of the Rings; her favorite characters are Aragorn and Pippin Took. Following graduation, she hopes to attend graduate school for biochemistry and get a cat.

Vice Master Alchemist

Andrew is a senior from the Bay Area, CA double majoring in chemistry and philosophy. Since last year, he has been working on self-healing polymers in the Grinstaff/Beeler labs and is an editor at BU’s undergraduate philosophy journal, Arché. His hobbies include: climbing, hiking, and and playing online poker (with fake money, of course!)

William Jiang is a senior from Queens, NY majoring in Human Physiology on the Pre-Med Track. He currently works as a medical assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital. In addition to AXS, he is the president of the BU Chinese Student Association. In his free time he loves to cook, eat out, and take care of his many pets. Following undergrad, he will continue with the MMEDIC program and matriculate into BUSM.

Hanil Chung is a senior from White Plains, NY majoring in Chemistry, with a specialization in physical chemistry. He is in the Kamenetska Research Group where he uses an optical tweezer to perform single-molecule spectroscopic studies using gold nanoparticles. He is also the President of Chemia, Boston University’s Official Undergraduate Chemistry Association. Hanil enjoys cooking, solving Rubik’s Cubes, LEGOs and watching NileRed videos. After graduation, he plans to attend graduate school for physical chemistry with hopes of working in the semiconductor or material science industry, and owning a Porsche 911.

 

NAlin Aggarwal

Nalin Aggarwal is junior from South Riding, Virginia majoring in Chemistry: Chemical Biology and minoring in Philosophy. He is currently doing research with BU’s Grinstaff Lab to synthesize a chemotherapeutic pro-drug. On the pre-med track, he is a clinical care technician (CCT) on a medical surgery floor at Tufts Medical Center. With a passion for teaching, he helps teach EMT/CPR labs with BUEMS and STOP THE BLEED classes with support from BMC. Alongside AXS, Nalin is involved with BU Kesem as a Development Coordinator and camp counselor to support children through a caregiver’s cancer. After graduation, he hopes to gain more clinical experience and apply to medical school. In his free time, Nalin loves cooking, traveling, and exploring coffee shops/cafes around Boston.

Kyla Quelle is a junior from Middleboro, MA, majoring in Health Science with a minor in Visual Arts. Over the summer, she worked at a local Urgent Care Clinic and started working as an EMT during the semester. She is also the Director of Administration for her sorority. She enjoys drawing, watching cartoons, and going on long distance runs in the city. After undergrad, she plans on doing a 5th year to earn her masters in Nutrition Sciences, then apply for Medical Illustration school. Her dream is to diversify the subjects medical drawings and publish her own anatomy textbook.

 

Jennavieve Zilic

Jennavieve Zilic is a Junior from Plainfield, Illinois studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In Fall 2022 she joined the Zhou lab, which studies systems tissue immunology, at Boston Children’s Hospital. She is also apart of Alpha Delta Epsilon, the pre health honor society at Boston University. She enjoys puzzles, unique food places, and Pixar. Her favorite are tied between Walee and Ratatouille. Following undergrad she hopes to go onto medical school.

 

Jordan Hoppy

Fundraising Chair

Jordan Hoppy is a junior from Lower Merion, PA studying chemistry and public health. She is also a Team USA synchronized skating athlete. She enjoys yoga, reading, arts and crafts, and watching American football. After undergrad, she plans on taking a gap year, before pursuing a masters in public health and a PhD in immunology.

 

Kiku Wang

Kiku Wang is a senior from Lexington, Massachusetts majoring in Human Physiology on the Pre-Dental Track. Over the Summer she works as a dental assistant at The Flossery in Waltham. In addition to AXS, Kiku is the Vice President of Oral Health Advocacy where she works to advocate for oral health across campus. In her free time she loves to go to cafés and spend time with fellow brothers and other friends. In AXS, she hopes she can captivate and share our wonderful brotherhood through the fraternity website, instagram (@axsatbu), and info sessions/rush events. Following undergrad she hopes to pursue Masters in Oral Health Sciences and matriculate into dental school.

 

Danny gorham

Professional Development Chair

Danny Gorham is a senior from Westminster, MA and is pursuing a major in Chemistry. He currently works in the Beeler Research Group on a multi-step synthesis of an organic catalyst. He enjoys spending time with his friends and taking long walks on the esplanade late at night. After graduation, Danny plans to attend graduate school and further pursue his thirst for knowledge.

Amy Wi is a senior from South Korea majoring in Biology and minoring in Computer Science. She’s currently in the BA/MS program, hoping to get her Master’s degree in Biology. In AXS, she works hard with her co-chair to plan exciting social events for brothers to attend and have fun! During her free time, she enjoys listening to new music, following the NBA, re-watching Marvel movies, shopping, and spending time with fellow brothers by playing monopoly and skribbl.io (trust me, it gets addicting). 

 

Youngsun Nam

Youngsun Nam is a junior from South Korea majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and minoring in Hospitality Administration. Over the summer, she worked as an intern at the company specializing in the in vitro diagnosis medical device. She is also the operation executive of the BU Korean International Student Association. In her free time she loves to cook, go out and eat, and watch youtube videos.

 

Joy Mun

HEALTH AND SAFETY CHAIR

Joy Mun is a senior from Ellicott City, MD. She is majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Business Administration & Management. She currently works in the Derosa group, where she is doing research on transition-metal-catalyzed oxidative couplings. When she isn’t in class or in lab, you’ll probably see her working in the front kiosk at Mugar (say hi!). In her free time, Joy enjoys to bake and explore cafés around Boston. After graduation, she plans to do research & development at a cosmetics company for makeup and/or skincare.
