Alpha Chi Sigma

Jerren heirs from a competitive high school, where pushed and motivated their peers to do better. That is what Jerren was hoping to find when he began his academic journey at Boston University. And that is exactly what Jerren found in Alpha Chi Sigma.

From studying away during library hours to having a blast at social events, Jerren found a community that he was proud to be a part of. He saw himself surrounded by a group of people that pushed him in all aspects of himself, motivating him to become not just a better student, but a better person.

While Jerren has a tough time describing one particular favorite AXS memory, he reminisces fondly on being given the opportunity to complete pledging with some of his closest friends.

Hadwin Belcher

Human Physiology

Finding a group of like-minded people, where quality time and studying time are synonymous, was super important for Hadwin to be successful in school. The shared collective struggle of grinding the hours away on labs and lab reports was an experience her orientation and FYSOP friends could not comprehend. Discovering Alpha Chi Sigma her freshman fall semester, she knew she had found the right people - the ones who understood balancing chemical reactions and balancing school life and social life.

To Hadwin, Alpha Chi Sigma means commitment. It means knowing that there is someone to help and always being able to help in return. Through AXS, she’s met two of her best friends, and they have been a consistent part of her daily life for two years growing together, suffering together, and everything in between.

On the subject of family, Hadwin’s fondest AXS memory was Big-Little Reveal, where she recalls enjoying a family brunch and watching all of her other friends welcome their own littles into their family.

Andy Vo

Computer Science and Biology

Intimidated by the label of being a “frat boy” at first, Andy was hesitant to look into Alpha Chi Sigma. But after watching his freshman year lab partner thrive in the rush and pledge process, he discovered the existence of professional fraternities and that there was an entire fraternity dedicated to the sciences like he was.

Ever since Andy began rushing, he hasn’t looked back. To him, Alpha Chi Sigma is more than just an organization, it’s a lifestyle. It’s not just about standing by the three objects, but how we can shape them into even the small moments in life.

For Andy, there is no exact moment he cherishes the most, but rather, it’s the accumulation of all the small inside jokes and funny moments with all of the brothers and pledges that allows him to thrive in the heart of midterm or finals week. Even when the mood is most barren, he always finds a way to lighten the atmosphere with a joke or comment. For Andy, it’s about making sure that everyone is family.
