What We Do
Service
At the heart of every member of Alpha Chi Sigma at BU is a heart dedicated to service. When we say that one of our Objects is “to aid its members by every honorable means,” we truly are committed to helping each other, our community on campus and throughout Boston.
Among the various activities throughout each year, members of our chapter have participated in Relay for Life to support cancer research and volunteered at numerous local organizations in the Boston area including the Greater Boston Food Bank, Cradles to Crayon, and the Green Team at Fenway Park.
We take pride in our ability to learn and grow as an organization, and we recognize that there exists an inequality in the diversity of students in STEM and STEM-related fields. We are committed to serving our Black brothers and sisters of our community.
Social Life
Although a professional fraternity on paper, members of Alpha Chi Sigma know how to enjoy a good time with good people. Whether it be in a formal setting such as Formal or a Basketball Tournament with other professional fraternities, or casually exploring Boston with other brothers, we do our best to ensure that every event is designed with the highest level of inclusiveness as possible. We understand that everybody has those long midterm seasons, long weeks, and even long days. With that said, even on your longest day you will be able to find a smiling face within our organization.
Success
Our brothers strive for both academic and professional excellence. Many graduate with a multitude of work experience from being undergraduate researchers directing independent projects in labs, data science interns at tech startups, and clinical interns at prestigious hospitals.
Over the course of a year, our Professional Development Chair facilitates key events such as notable speakers and panelists in various STEM industries, and holds workshops on resume building and LinkedIn profiles just to name a few. Passion for success and professionalism in Alpha Chi Sigma is at the heart of our brotherhood.
